a thought and sparkles

I just finished that three works for five days art challenge on Facebook.  I rarely post my art to Facebook. I have thought about setting up an "art" page, but I just haven't yet...  There are so many media venues to consider.  I actually really like the blog format the best, I think in part because if you have found yourself here reading and looking at this page, you might have been looking for me or my work, or at least browsing arts related sites.  I am not scrambled among posts about cat videos or the latest political crisis.  Its just my art, a quiet place, no ads, no tags, no likes.  Thank you for visiting!!

winter whites in progress

Snow is falling.  House is quiet. Outdoors it is silent.  I have been in the studio this week using lots of white (house paint, spray paint, oil) covering up older paintings, trying to uncover something new.

fond farewell

Last week marked the closing of Åarhus Gallery.

Åarhus was the gallery in Belfast, Maine where I was a partner for some time a few years back.  It gave me the opportunity to exhibit in over a dozen beautifully curated exhibits, meet a community of  talented like-minded artists, and be a part of something unique in the gallery scene of Mid-coast Maine.  Åarhus had its own voice, its own point of view.  I am glad to have played a tiny part in the life of this unique gallery.

Here's a letter from the final four.  Wishing everyone the best!

what's going on around here: try everything

The New Year

Going for the new in the studio- trying whatever comes to mind- collage, pastel, oil, gold and yes even glitter; incorporating everything.  Later I will sit back and reflect, but for now it feels like time is running out so I am putting it all down while I can.
