field trip-nyc

Really no photos can do justice to the scale, complexity and grandeur of this work. Each piece of discarded scrap metal is meticulously sewn together with wire to create undulating folds of drapery that fall into the tradition of quilting and fabric weaving of his native Ghana.

With all the choices of colors and textures, it kills me that I am not a better seamstress! But, with great intentions to create an original look for summer, my daughter and I bought two yards of organic cotton knit....
