new beginnings

working with metallic paint again and using oxidation washes for a primary layer of marks.

planning on a series of six

Depending on the angle of view, the gold ground can look reflective and light or appear matt with a more subdued hue. The oxidation marks range from a warm brown to a true oxidized copper green-almost spring like!

  1. These six are lovely...I am not familiar with oxidation washes but I can see beautiful color mixes...great job!

  3. Thank you all,
The oxidation wash is a patina solution I paint over wet acrylic paint. It is the stuff they use for faking metal leaf on frames.
